Callum graduated from Newcastle Dental School in 1999, having changed career from civil engineering as he wanted a rewarding career in healthcare. After working for 2 years in Carlisle he returned to Glasgow, where he had several associate positions before moving to work in Carluke in 2005.
It was while working in Glasgow he developed a keen interest in dental implants, cosmetic dentistry and full mouth treatments, and introduced these treatments to the practice. He completed his implant training with the internationally renowned courses in Harley Street. This kick-started a passion for innovation, which led him to continually strive to provide the most up to date treatments for his patients.
Specifically, in his implant treatments, he has been the first dentist in central Scotland to adopt the acclaimed PRGF-Endoret system, which uses natural products from a patient’s own body to promote bone growth and healing around implants. He believes that by using this system you can harness the body’s natural affinity for healing and regeneration. Callum was an early adopter of the ‘quicksleeper’ gentle digital injection system and champions the practice ethos in delivering painless dentistry.
Callum is married to Heather and has 3 children. He likes to get out on the golf course whenever he can and has a keen interest in science fiction/fantasy novels and music. In the last few years he has adopted a love for getting out on the road riding his motorbike.

Mike Nisbet is one of Queen’s Drive’s most well established and highly esteemed dentists, who has looked after patients here for many years
With the aim of providing the best quality of service for each of his patients, Mike has always ensured that he keeps up with all the latest advancements in dentistry and that he uses the most up to date techniques and materials.
Most of his patients will be aware that Mike is a car enthusiast, as well as being focussed on keeping fit. So when he’s not in the surgery you’re likely to find him in the gym or at the racing circuit putting his car through its paces.
“I joined the practice in 1982, straight after qualifying from Edinburgh Dental School. At the time I felt (and still feel) fortunate to have been chosen to be Glen Heavenor’s trainee in what was then (and remains) one of the most advanced practices in Scotland. It has always been at the forefront of new processes and technologies, but also has a reputation for treatment aimed at providing long term care, not a short term fix.
It’s been a real privilege to have been able to work in this practice for my whole career, so that I have been able to treat the same patients over many years and then treat their children and (I can hardly believe it) their grandchildren. Honestly I’m not that old- these folk were married young!
Of course the practice, and I, have evolved and developed over the years that I have been here but every change has always been made with the interest of the patients in mind. And I am confident that our quality of service and genuine interest in the welfare of our patients will continue to be a defining feature of the practice for many years to come.
